About The Teen Health Coach / Mind Health Nutrition
My name is Linda Mandelbaum, founder of The Teen Health Coach / Mind Health Nutrition, a private practice in Great Neck, New York that focuses on a holistic approach to health and wellness, especially for young people. My goal is to help teenagers fully understand that there are easy choices you can make about what you eat and do that will greatly improve your health and happiness. You can reduce food cravings, overcome energy slumps, and reach your ideal weight without starving or slaving away in the gym. We will work together to find what uniquely works for you. We aren’t all the same, and no one approach will work for everyone.
There are three core principles which I focus on with every client:
First, I create a general healthy-lifestyle program focusing on food and exercise choices that work best for each person.
Second, I incorporate a “therapeutic lifestyle changes” program that provides my clients very specific knowledge to create healthy choices with specific tools, such as written recipes, nutritional supplements, and a tracking system for progress. I also include my professional training in “Food as Medicine” to teach scientifically validated techniques. This hands-on, interactive participation with each client offers them specific tools to create a “new” healthy lifestyle that they will use for the rest of their lives and share with their families to improve the quality of their lives as well.
Finally, I create a plan for each client to create their own success story. My passion and commitment allow each client to devise their personal goals and continue learning how to incorporate diet, exercise and personal health into their lifestyle.
I have completed four separate training programs which have allowed me to craft a terrific model of consultation. I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, then trained in First Line Therapy with Metagenics, which is a proven personalized lifestyle medicine program that incorporates therapeutic lifestyle changes (TLC) such as healthy nutrition, nutritional protocols, exercise, and stress management. I received certification from The Center For Mind-Body Medicine in “Food as Medicine.” I have a degree in education from C.W. Post College and remain a lifelong learner, continuing my studies in a wide range of dietary theories and learning from world renowned experts such as Deepak Chopra, Dr. Andrew Weil, Paul Pitchford, Dr. Mark Hyman, and many other skilled health practitioners. My training has allowed me to infuse my passion for wellness and share my wisdom with clients to achieve their best quality of life.
I am available for counseling in my office in Great Neck, by phone, or Skype.
